I have been riding horses since I was 2 years old and have shown my Morgans successfully on a National level for many years. While I have spent many years under the guidance of professional Morgan trainers, most recently I have enjoyed trail riding as well as showing at local and A rated shows over recent years, doing my own training and conditioning. I consider myself a competent rider but wanted to gain some new skills for entering trail classes and started a lesson program with Robin toward that end.
While my lessons with Robin did yield new skills with regard to trail obstacles, I was delighted and amazed to find that Robin was able to vastly improve my overall horsemanship and coordination with my horse. We learned new ways to communicate, better cues for gait transitions, and corrected some miscues I was unconsciously giving my horse. Not only was I able to enter a trail competition (and win a ribbon!) fairly soon into my lesson program but my horse has started to perform more calmly in her ring work.
Lessons have been fun, informative, easy to understand and productive. I have also seen Robin start brand new youth riders with a total horsemanship approach that results in a better rider sooner and helps the rider communicate and understand what they are doing and why.

It gives me great pleasure to recommend horseback riding lessons at Over the Rainbow Farms taught by Robin Dixon. From the first day that my then 11 year old son started lessons with Miss Robin I have always been impressed with her motivation and sincere desire to teach him to ride safely and correctly. She has a very warm personality that relates well to everyone. You will find her to be a very intelligent and goal-oriented instructor who will never give up or get frustrated with her students--she has a capital P in patience. Robin is someone that can be counted on to follow through with her commitments and go the extra "miles" to make sure that everything is done correctly. Robin is dedicated, professional and dependable. My son is now 13 years old and he has become a very capable rider who has won blue ribbons at various horse shows including the San Diego County Fair. Your decision to have Robin Dixon as your or your child's horseback riding instructor would be a decision that would never be regretted.

Over the Rainbow Farm is a wonderful setting for riding lessons. Robin is very patient. She is extremely generous with her time and treats riders as individuals, complimenting their strengths and helping to improve their weaknesses. Her knowledge of riding, horses and putting it altogether as a teacher is an unbeatable combination.

I'm so glad to have been able to spend these years with you, and I hope there are many more to come!
You've helped me grow and improve so much as a rider and horsewoman. Thank you!
